“Aviation industry not taking off.”

Submitted by Vishnu Tripathi on September 10, 2009 – 12:43 amNo Comment

aeroplaneThe problems of the aviation industry just do not seem to end. The recent strike of the jet airways pilots has only aggravated the bruises of the company trying hard to battle the brunt of recession. This strike is said to be a result of the sacking of two pilots from this company. Aviation minister and the company authorities are trying hard to negotiate a settlement but since no party is willing to give up, the situation seems to have become stagnant. Some of the national trade unions have also come up front to support the workers.

This is yet another blow to the already ailing sector. This is a sector which has been worst hit by the recession. Government has tried measures like merging of the two government sector carriers. All the Indian players in the market are incurring losses and are struggling hard to survive this period. In this time of crisis it becomes all the more important that the management and the employees work towards pulling the company out of this precarious situation. But sadly it is not happening and both the parties are at loggerheads with each others.

One can only hope that instead of storming their brains in fighting each other, all the involved parties would come together to find a solution to ongoing crisis so that the aviation sector is able to realize its full potential and is again able to provide revenue.
