There are a lot of times that your favorite website has embedded flash media which you have always wanted to save. There’s an easy way to enjoy all of that without having to go and load that flash animation again and again on that webpage. Plus through this method you can even save YouTube or any other type of embedded videos on sites such as Facebook, Orkut, Metacafe etc.

Shockwave Games, Website elements, Screencasts (software demos) created in Macromedia Flash (swf) always fascinate us. We would generally like to save these flash files embedded in webpages to my hard-drive for offline viewing.

But saving flash animations from websites is not that easy. You will not get any simple option to simply save these flash files. Also the right-click context menu of most browsers won’t work on Flash objects. So I will share some techniques (work-arounds) to save flash files from Mozilla Firefox web browser.

Firefox for Newbies (The easiest method !!)
a. Click Tools – Page Info
b. Click the Media Tab on the Page Info Windows
c. The media tab has a complete list (with preview) of Images, CSS Files and Shockwave Flash files that were downloaded by the Firefox browser while rendering (loading) the page.
d. Scroll down the list and locate the swf file.

e. Click the “Save As” button. Select some directory on your hard drive and save the file (No need for a third-party plug-in)

Keep watching this space for more of these techniques.

Peace.

This site inspired me and opened the gates for me to step up and enter the cool world of web site designing in flash ! One look @ the site and ull fell in love with flash, will want to know “How DO they DO that??!! wow!!”and much more… I came some flash site 1 day, so I googled

“top 10 flash sites” and this site was on the top of the list ! It took a while to open as net speed aint exactly top of the class here, (thats the down side of good flash sites, they take a helluva time to load if u have a slow net conn), but the loading screen had captured my attention. When the site loading , was just dumbstruck ! Spent the next few hours browsing the site and sublinkd sites. 2advanced actually are professional flash site designers and this was there show off (attractor)site and boy do they know how to show off in style. Everything designed just fits so perfectly together, The 5 wallpapers for each categoryare simply amazing, ull probably want to download n set them up as wallpaper as soon as u see em! The muzic in the background gives you the feel that u have just arrived in some futuristic ,state of the art industry worksite like that of i-robots.The navigation is pretty easy. And the site has links for all the sites they have designd for other companies ranging from car companies , 6 flag adventure park, their previous attractor sites, and much much more… it’ll keep you engrossed on a day for hours. I was just so inspired by this that i spent the next 3 days googling flash tutorials, and forgot everything else, gaming, studies, food, just was lost in the awesome wold of flash and soon made my first flash site… it takes some time to get a hang of it, but its much better animating ur site, than just html links. Go to the site and ull c what i mean! Have fun!
